The Port Phillip Animal Hospital vets.

Port Phillip Animal Hospital

As Toby enters his senior years and Archie hits adolescence, both dogs are at age where it is vital I can rely on good veterinary care. Regular health checks are essential for Toby and these days there are many things that vets can do to ensure an older dog ages comfortably. Young Archie is more likely to get himself into trouble in an emergency situation such as an accident or eating something toxic.

Although I am a qualified veterinarian, I have not worked in a veterinary clinic for many years so like all pet owners I need to have faith in the vets I trust with my beloved pets. I was delighted when Port Phillip Animal Hospital opened in my local Melbourne area. The vets are experienced, competent and have wonderful people skills. I have been very impressed with the overall service and am delighted to recommend this clinic to anyone searching for good veterinary care.

Port Phillip Animal Hospital -  opened in October 2006 in Middle Park, Melbourne and is a purpose built facility offering many in house services. The partners at PPAH live in the area and are familiar with the local community and  the degree of commitment people have to their animals. The aim of their veterinary practice is to give their clients excellence in care as well as a friendly environment.

Three veterinarians own and run the clinic:

Drs Craig and Rebecca Goode graduated from the University of Queensland and shortly afterwards moved to Melbourne to work in private small animal practices.

Craig has a special interest in small animal surgery and has completed an internship at the University of Melbourne. He was offered a prestigious surgical residency in California but elected to stay instead on Australian shores, realising that a love of the Australian family lifestyle could be combined with practising the highest standard of veterinary care.

Rebecca's main area of interest (apart from two small toddlers!) is internal medicine, specifically focussing on the special needs of geriatric patients and their owners.

Dr Oliver Wilkinson is a Melbourne University graduate who has extensive locum experience both in Australia and overseas. He has recently been awarded the position of Practitioner in Residence for 2007 at the university, and is enjoying this thoroughly as well as working at the Animal Hospital.
